Top Schools for Reefer Madness
Top Schools for Reefer Madness by: Naomi Nishihara on August 23, 2014 | 0 Comments Comments 2,144 Views August 23, 2014The dispute is a common one: many college students will smoke pot during their stints on campus, and the university staff from RAs to campus police canââ¬â¢t allow that. Students hide their activities better on some campuses than others, however. At the University of Colorado Boulder, which has placed on The Princeton Reviewââ¬â¢s Reefer Madness list every year for six years, marijuana use on campus is apparent. In the past there have been clashes between students and administration over an annual smoke-out on April 20, and one such clash involved the university closing its campus to visitors and using a foul smelling fertilizer to keep students off the quad, according to the Huffington Post.In the last six years, only 33 schools have made the list and seven, including the University of Colorado Boulder, were listed every year. Though recreational marij uana use is usually considered not addictive, the slow turnover of this list indicates that the culture, at least once in a university setting, is hard to break. The Reefer Madness list may not be as stable in coming years, however. With more and more places legalizing medical marijuana, there appears to be a rise in institutionalized weed like the multiple schools now offering courses on weed and the new Northeastern Institute of Cannabis, in Natick, Mass. which offers a 12 course program and presents graduates with a ââ¬Å"cannabis industry certificationâ⬠according to the New York Post. But at least for the time being, here are the top schools forà Reefer Madness:The Reefer Madness Rankings From 2015 to 20102015 Rank School2015 Rank2014 Rank2013 Rank2012 Rank2011 Rank2010 Rankà Skidmore Collegeà 1à 1à 4à 15à 5à 2à Eckerd Collegeà 2à 4à 3à 8à 2à 10à The Evergreen State Collegeà 3à 3à 6à 11à NRà NRà University of Colorado Boulder à 4à 2à 1à 4à 6à 5à Ithaca Collegeà 5à 6à 17à NRà 10à 11à University of Vermontà 6à 5à 15à 10à 4à 3à University of Oregonà 7à 7à NRà NRà 14à 15à Sarah Lawrence Collegeà 8à 15à 18à 19à 12à 12à Pitzer Collegeà 9à 8à NRà 16à 13à 14à University of California Santa Cruzà 10à 9à 2à 2à 1à 1à University of California Santa Barbaraà 11à 5à 10à 3à 9à 9à State University of New York Purchase Collegeà 12à NRà 9à NRà 16à 19à Colorado Collegeà 13à NRà 14à 1à 7à 7à Guilford Collegeà 14à 18à 16à NRà NRà 16à Lewis Clark Collegeà 15à NRà 13à 6à NRà NRà Emerson Collegeà 16à 17à NRà NRà 20à NRà Reed Collegeà 17à NRà 20à 13à NRà NRà Syracuse Universityà 18à 20à NRà 14à NRà NRà University of Wisconsin Madisonà 19à 14à NRà NRà NRà NRà Marlboro Collegeà 20à NRà NRà NRà 15 à NRà Bard College (NY)à NRà 11à 11à 5à 3à 4à University of Texas at Austinà NRà 13à NRà NRà NRà NRà Green Mountain Collegeà NRà 16à 5à NRà 17à 20à West Virginia Universityà NRà 19à 12à NRà 18à 17à Warren Wilson Collegeà NRà NRà 7à 7à NRà 13à New York Universityà NRà NRà 8à 12à NRà NRà Grinnell Collegeà NRà NRà 19à 20à NRà NRà New College of Floridaà NRà NRà NRà 9à 11à 6à Arizona State Universityà NRà NRà NRà 17à NRà NRà University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaignà NRà NRà NRà 18à NRà NRà Hampshire Collegeà NRà NRà NRà NRà 8à 8à Vassar Collegeà NRà NRà NRà NRà 19à NRà Wesleyan Universityà NRà NRà NRà NRà NRà 17Source: The Princeton Review Page 1 of 11
